— Charles Baudelaire Meditation Be wise, O my Sorrow, be calmer. You implored the evening; it falls; here it is: A dusky air surrounds the town, Bringing peace to some, worry to others. Whilst the worthless crowd of humanity, Lashed by Pleasure, that merciless torturer, Go to gather remorse in slavish rejoicing, Give me your hand, my Sorrow; come with me, Far from them. See the dead years leaning, In worn-out clothing, on the balconies of the skies; See how Regret, grinning, rises from the deep waters; The dying sun goes to sleep in an archway, And, like a long shroud dragging from the East, Listen, my dear one, hear the soft night coming. credits

about

"Transfigured Dream", is a compilation of Instrumental Works composed from 1984 to 2019. Many of these pieces are intended for Cinematic applications, while others were expressly created for Theater, Dance, and Installations. Aside from "Sad Balconies"(solo piano) and "The Sea in the Bells" which was recorded in a NYC Studio with Cellist - Martha Colby, and Guitarist - Brandon Ross...the rest of these pieces were created with Synthesizers, Electronics, and Samples of Tape Instruments (Mellotron). Most of the Rhythmic work was played by hand, from keyboard sources - and I also played the occasional Acoustic Guitar - "Tema Celeste", and Electric Guitar (Prince of Stars) .
To some, my influences will be fairly apparent: Debussy, Ravel, Satie, Angelo Badalamenti, Toru Takemitsu, and the Titan - Ennio Morricone, who just recently passed-away. Hopefully, I have syncretically created a Personal Language from these wonderful sources! There is almost an hour and a half of music presented here...basically a Double Album's worth of material that represents the breadth of my Instrumental Style.
