SIGNAL PATH is my most personal record, because of my life-long relationship with the Piano. The original compositions span my adult life, and are the foundation of nearly all my music. There is also a Nocturne by the French Composer, Erik Satie that feels natural - as a part of this collection. Much of this music is melancholic, and was inspired by literature, and photography, painters, Impressionist composers - Ravel, Debussy, and Satie, and modern Minimalists like Steve Reich. I believe this album is appropriate for times of deep reflection, and rumination. It also has a strong sense of "Place" - as most of these pieces were created in different locals: NYC, New Orleans, Lisbon, Mexico City, Istanbul, and Lviv - Ukraine. A good friend of mine in New Orleans put it poetically, referring to me as - "The Haunter of Cities!". Of all the recordings I have released - this one has a special resonance. The cover photo (by Sae Otomo) was taken of me, performing in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in 2014. I hope the listener will surrender to the mystery, and spectral essence of this music, and embark on their own private journey to these haunted, and beautiful places - both Real, and Imaginary.
